Resumen

This brief document, aims to describe the impact that has caused
in the process of cadastral survey of Costa Rica, the existence of
two large institutions, which operated separately for more than a
century, generating legal and graphic information independently,
constituting a whole I challenge its compatibility.
A country with an area of 51 100 km2 does not seem to represent
a great challenge to obtain the necessary information for the formation
of the Cadastre. Smaller in comparison to even provinces
or departments of other Latin American countries, the institutions
in charge of the issue have faced a great challenge due to the
particular development of the registry and cadastral activity.
It is relevant to consider that the Real Estate Registry, formed in
2009 as part of the National Registry of Costa Rica, has been in
charge since May 2014 of carrying out all the necessary efforts for
the completion of the cadastre formation and its compatibility
with the registry, a work that is of vital importance for our country.
As can be seen in the data presented, in this five years it has
been possible to advance significantly in this work, due to the
participation of a large number of professionals committed to
the proposed objective.
