The new era of the CNIG download center

Abstract

The National Geographic Institute (IGN) produces and maintains geographic information on Spain and collaborates with other public administrations to ensure the availability of accurate and useful geospatial data for analysis and decision-making. The Autonomous Body National Centre for Geographic Information (CNIG), facilitates access to this geographic information through its Download Centre. In its 15 years of existence, this website has expanded its range of geographic products, adopted a policy of open and free data, and improved its technical capabilities to provide a public service that generates sustainable wealth for the benefit of the general interest.
