The graphic registry base in the first decade since Law 13/2015 came into force

Abstract

The legislator's 13/2015 aspiration was twofold:

1.- To provide the Registry with a physical base, based on official pronouncements on the physical reality of the territory, through:

1. a) Using of cadastral cartography as the basis for identifying registered properties.
2. b) Designing a series of legal procedures, provided with sufficient guarantees to remedy a disagreement with phy­sical reality, extending to georreferencing the legal effects of registration, applicating mortgage principles.

2.- To achieve the long-awaited coordination within Cadaster and Property Registry, configured as an information exchan­ge procedure, through the use of new ICT technologies.

The objective of this article is to analyses the current situation, to see law`s impact, after these first ten years of validity, and to reflect on how the situation should evolve in the future.
